Our Thirty-Fourth Month - June 2021

For me it's a very organic approach to growth, while feeling good and servicing our clients well.

What a surreal time this last month has been. We've obviously been riding the wave of the current market in the office, while trying to take a little time to celebrate our successes over the financial year that was coming to a close. Our business goals for each & every quarter for this financial year has been met, which subsequently has led us to also meeting a stretch goal we set ourselves for a bit of fun when our initial goal was reached about 2.5 months before the end of the financial year.

With the exact same amount of day-to-day team members (Alison, Louise & myself) as the full financial year prior, here are a couple of the numbers:

68 Unconditional Sales (+51%)
Average Sale Price of $519,977, Including Land Sales (+$47,972)
Average Days on Market of 59, Including Estate Land Sales (-53 Days)

It's interesting to look at these numbers and I think it's reflective of the market we've seen lately. The most significant is the days on market I feel, reducing by almost 50% which includes our long-term listings (like the allotments in land estates that obviously gradually sell over time). The days on market has been the biggest individual thing to get comfortable with as an agent - we consistently feel like we have very little to sell, purely due to the initial intensity of enquiry and the quick sale timeframes for new listings. Back-to-back open houses, week after week have become a thing of the past in most instances, with simply making it to the first open house...a big enough challenge in itself.

On a personal front, we've been blessed with the arrival of our second child in June; with his safe arrival on the 10th of June 2021. Little Jasper Louis De Maid is doing very well. I loved being able to take a month to be at home with my family during his earliest days; watching him grow and his big brother interact with him has created some of my most cherished memories to date. I've been feeling very lucky & very content with where our life is at and the times to come fill me with excitement.

For Ecology Property this coming year, our goals remain the same as the previous year. I was posed the question of new targets for the 2022 financial year by my coach early in June - and for me, the successes of the year that's been don't change me as a person or the goals I'd set for us for the year to come. I always wanted to create a business that felt as good as it looked, a business that supported my ethos towards life and a business that didn't need to try service the desire to "keep growing". For me it's a very organic approach to growth, while feeling good and servicing our clients well. If this means keeping the team the same size and chasing the same targets, I'm more than ok with that. Life feels good.
