Hodgson Vale is a rural suburb located 12 kilometres south of the city centre via the New England Highway.
The locality is believed to be named for Sir Arthur Hodgson, a pioneer and member for the Legislative Assembly seat of Warrego in 1868-1869.
Predominantly owner occupied, the area is highly favoured by established families & couples, with residents enjoying the benefits of living within a rural community, whilst still feeling connected to the city.
There are no schools in Hodgson Vale itself, but there are primary schools in neighbouring suburbs of Vale View and Ramsay.
